What's goin on, Reader?
You've probably heard me talk ad nauseam about Art Start at some point. It's an amazing organization that I've been volunteering with for the past three years, helping to teach art & music workshops to kids in homeless shelters. Art Start provides a vital outlet for the kids they serve and I love volunteering with them. I'm also excited that I'll be performing with my band at their benefit party this Friday night. It's at Manny's on Second: 1770 Second Ave. The event starts at 8pm and I'll probably be performing sometime around 10pm. If you can't make it to the event but would still like to support Art Start, you can do so online through their website: http://art-start.org/support/donate/
Also, Bill Cosby is hosting their next fundraiser at Town Hall on Oct. 13th. Who doesn't like Bill Cosby!

PS I'm attaching another picture from my Ireland trip. It's the edge of the cliff ( 300 ft drop) near Dun Angus on Inish Mor.

Mississippi Riverboat
Dear reader,
Today I'm in a bit of a rush so am just uploading a picture and a brief note. I took this picture off the back of a riverboat on the Mississippi River in New Orleans earlier this summer. I love New Orleans. Such a vibrant city with incredible people, music, culture and history. I'm sure it's haunted. New Orleans inspired two songs on my upcoming record: "Riverboat Gamblers," and "Easter Morning, New Orleans"... Went all the way to Ireland to record songs about the American South : )
Anyway, that's all for now.

the boat ride to Inish Mor
Dear Faithful Reader,
Still working furiously around the clock on this video-upload business. Here's another photo to tide over your insatiable curiosity about my Ireland trip. It's from the boat ride out to Inish Mor, the biggest of the Aran Islands which are located in Galway Bay on the West Coast of Ireland.

videos
dear blog reader,
I am trying to figure out how to upload a video or two I took in Ireland. This could take some time but watch this space as it is bound to happen eventually. In the meantime, here is a picture of Aughnanure Castle in Oughterard for you to contemplate. xxjk

Recording in Ireland
Dear blog reader(s?),
This past summer I was busy co-writing a whole bunch of new songs with my band, Radio Gold (John Kengla, Rob Heath and Jason Loughlin). A couple weeks ago we all traveled to remote Moate, Ireland where we recorded these songs at the incredible Grouse Lodge Recording Studio (http://grouselodge.com/content.php?ID=1). This was an amazing experience. Grouse Lodge is situated in the middle of the beautiful Irish countryside. Its visionary owner, Paddy Dunning, transformed 275-year-old, crumbling farm buildings into a state of the art recording studio where the likes of Michael Jackson, Muse and Snow Patrol have all worked. This experience was truly spectacular and I’m extremely grateful for it. I’m also excited about these new songs. I really love them and hope you will too. We’ll be playing them tomorrow night in Philadelphia at Lickity Split at 10pm. If you’re in the area, swing by. I’m posting a picture of my band and me at Grouse Lodge, along with our wonderful engineer, Fintan Moore.
